Who says a little extra is too much?

Yes& Body Politics is a passion project between two friends brought together by laughter and the rare but exciting experience of the promise of shared clothing as a plus size woman. We shared the experience of being "too big, too loud, too much, too different." We were already starting our journeys to ignore those messages and truly own our fabulousness, our power and our beauty. We share the pain of trying to be invisible, or cram ourselves into the narrow definition of what being a woman is as well as the beauty and exhilaration of finally being able to speak up and be heard on our own terms. Both of us struggled, mostly alone to figure out how to exist and be happy until we finally found community in instagram, each other and in the body positive community. We hope this podcast and the other work in our future will offer others who are currently pressured to be invisible a peek at what is possible, an alternative to doing what others tell you is "correct, " when that "correctness" feels stifling or painful.
We believe every person has beauty and value. We believe a person is much more than their appearance and their ability to meet the current societal standards. We believe that people deserve to express themselves and live the joy they see. We believe in compassion and caring for each other. We hope this podcast, company, and community will be able to do a small part in increasing that joy, compassion, and empowerment in the world.
